Motorbike Blaze Sparks Explosions in Kilburn Flats
A routine bike ride turned terrifying when a motorbike caught fire and exploded, triggering a blaze that spread to two flats on Ashmore Road, Kilburn.
Blast From The Bike: Explosions Rock Residents
Residents heard multiple explosions, thought to be petrol tanks on several motorbikes detonating. The inferno quickly escalated, forcing a big response from the fire brigade.
- Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters rushed to the scene.
- Fire crews came from North Kensington, West Hampstead, and Kensington stations.
- The fire was reported at 12:43pm and under control by just before 2pm.
Damage and Injuries: Flats and Bikes Hit Hard
The blaze damaged parts of a ground-floor flat and the flat above it. Four motorbikes parked in the front garden were completely destroyed.
Two women suffered smoke inhalation. One was taken to hospital, while the other received treatment at the scene from the London Ambulance Service.
Fire Cause Under Investigation
Officials are probing what sparked the fire. So far, no further details have been released.
