Drugs Bust on Bilton Street: £4,000 Cocaine Haul Leads to Jail
Young Driver Busted with Class A Drugs
Rigers Lleshanaku, 24, from Waterloo Road, Cobridge, was arrested after police stopped his car on Bilton Street, Stoke, just before 5pm on Tuesday 18 August. A search of the vehicle uncovered £4,000 worth of cocaine hidden inside a coffee bag, along with £645 in cash.
Two Years Behind Bars for Supply and Driving Offences
All the drugs and cash were seized under Section 27 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. On Tuesday 13 October, Lleshanaku appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs and driving without insurance. He was sentenced to two years in prison.
Police Praise Officers’ Swift Action
Sergeant Marc Proctor, Stoke South Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This sentencing is further proof of the great work our officers are doing in combatting those intent on circulating drugs around our communities. Lleshanaku was detained after decisive work and had no choice but to admit to his role in supplying a large amount of Class A drugs.”
Warning to Drug Dealers
Sergeant Proctor added: “My message to those who continue to bring drugs onto our streets is simple – we will continue to stamp out what you’re doing and, if found guilty, you will be prosecuted.”
