British Man Nabbed at French Port Over Terror Suspicions
37-Year-Old Arrested in Pre-Planned Terror Probe
A 37-year-old British man was hauled in this morning at the Coquelles port in France, inside the British control zone. The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) Counter Terrorism Command led the operation, which was carefully planned.
Suspected Terror Plot & Links to Banned Group
Police arrested the man under PACE powers on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts, under section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. He also faces charges related to membership of a proscribed organisation, under section 11 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
Investigation Focuses on Syria Connections
The probe reportedly concerns alleged activities linked to Syria. The suspect remains in police custody at an undisclosed station while enquiries continue.
