Islington Drug Dealer Busted with Massive Class A Haul
Nicholas Leighton, 27, from Islington, has been jailed for three years after pleading guilty to multiple drug offences at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 27 November.
Drugs and Cash Found in Huge Police Raid
On 31 January, officers executing a drugs warrant at Leighton’s Islington home uncovered a stash of cocaine, MDMA, and 29 ecstasy tablets – all Class A drugs. They also seized over £25,000 in cash.
When police called Leighton to the address, he arrived but was caught discarding his jacket outside. The jacket contained around £2,000 and a wrap of cocaine.
Further Evidence Found After Second Raid
On 22 May, a second search of Leighton’s home and car revealed 11 wraps of cocaine hidden in a protein powder pot, along with nearly £2,530 in cash. Mobile phones recovered contained drug-dealing messages, sealing his fate.
Police Praise Tough Stance on Drug Crime
“The Met will continue to target those who supply large quantities of drugs, and bring them to justice. Confiscation proceedings against Leighton will now commence,” said Inspector Stephen Johnston-Keay.
“I am delighted with today’s outcome and believe that it serves as evidence of our zero-tolerance approach towards drug dealing in our community. This was a significant haul of drugs removed from circulation.”
“The sentences passed reflect the enormous harm these crimes cause to communities across the UK,” he added.
