Dog Walker Brutally Beaten in Broad Daylight Park Attack
A man in his 20s was savagely attacked while walking his dog near Woodland Street, Fratton, at around 5.15pm.
Group of Up to 20 Men Launch Violent Assault
The victim passed a group of 15 to 20 men standing by parked cars. After a brief exchange, the dog ran off. Furious, the gang grabbed the man, dragging him to the kerb. They then relentlessly kicked and punched him in the face and torso.
Despite internal bruising and facial injuries, the man managed to escape on foot.
Suspects Described – Foreign Language Heard
- The attackers were white men aged between 20 and 40.
- They reportedly spoke a foreign language, possibly Romanian.
- One suspect stood 5ft 10in, large build, dressed in a black tracksuit with white stripes and black trainers.
- The group fled in three cars: a charcoal grey BMW, a white Mercedes, and a metallic red VW.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and CCTV Footage
DC Heather Wensley said: “This was an unprovoked attack in daylight hours while a man was just out walking his dog.
“We want to hear from anyone who was near St Mary’s Church on Sunday afternoon and saw the attack, the suspects, or the vehicles.”
“Residents with CCTV are urged to come forward.”
