Man Jailed for Stalking and Violent Abuse After Ex Ends Relationship
Short-lived Romance Turns Nightmarish
Grant Fullager, 29, of Pinewood Place, Dartford, started dating his victim late 2019. The relationship lasted just two months before she split, alarmed by his violent past. But Fullager didn’t take no for an answer.
Campaign of Harassment and Violence
After the breakup, Fullager launched a relentless campaign of abuse. Terrified, the victim let him move back in. What followed was months of assaults — including a terrifying knife threat — obsessive phone checks, and lockdown in her own flat.
Abuse Spills Over to Family, Police Step In
The torment extended beyond the victim. On December 29, 2020, Fullager turned up at her mother’s house, issuing chilling threats. Police got involved the next day when officers caught him driving recklessly on London Road, Swanley, fleeing at speed and driving on the wrong side of the road.
Justice Served: Jail Time and Restraining Order
Arrested on January 5, 2021, Fullager faced charges including coercive control, dangerous driving, and driving without insurance. Pleading guilty, he was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court to three years behind bars on May 17.
Other charges of harassment and assault were left on file. He also received a restraining order to protect his victim.
“Fullager used violence and threats over an extended period to exert control over his victim’s life,” said DC Lewis Humphrey of Kent Police’s Vulnerability Investigation Team.
“Even after the victim ended their relationship, Fullager harassed her until she was so scared he was allowed to return to live with her. I am pleased he is now in prison and I would like to thank the victim who has bravely assisted our investigators and helped us bring him to justice.”
“Domestic abuse is a priority for Kent Police. I encourage anyone in this type of relationship to seek help. Support is available – the first step is to contact us or ask a trusted friend or relative to do it. Nobody should feel unable to walk away from domestic abuse.”
