Racist Rant on High Street Lands Man in Hot Water

Police were called to the high street at around 1.40pm on 30 May 2021 after members of the public raised alarms about a man behaving anti-socially.

Kevin Ward’s Outburst

Officers approached the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Kevin Ward, who is of no fixed address. Ward hurled racist abuse at the police and verbally attacked them.

Arrest and Additional Charges

Ward was arrested at the scene. While in custody, he caused damage to a police cell and was charged with assaulting an emergency worker. He also faced charges for using threatening words to cause harassment, alarm, and distress.

Next Stop: Medway Magistrates’ Court

On 1 June 2021, Ward appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court. He was granted bail to return for a hearing on 2 July 2021.
