Blaze Rips Through Thornton Heath Home in the Early Hours
A fierce fire broke out at a mid-terrace house on Moffat Road, Thornton Heath, wrecking half of the ground floor. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters rushed to the scene in the dead of night.
Family Escapes Flames, Rushed to Hospital
Two adults and three children managed to flee the burning home before firefighters arrived. All were taken to hospital by ambulance crews for checks.
Fire Under Control by Dawn
The fire brigade received the call at 3.54am. Thanks to speedy action from crews from Norbury, West Norwood, Woodside, and Croydon stations, the blaze was under control by 5.03am.
Cause of Blaze Still a Mystery
Authorities are investigating what sparked the fire. No charges or further details have been released yet.
