Brutal Club Attack Leaves Teen Scarred for Life
Arron Kmiotek unleashed a savage glass attack on a 19-year-old after wrongly believing he was mates with someone involved in a scandal. The ex-schoolmate smashed an empty pint glass into the teenager’s face, slicing his cheek, nose, and right eyelid with deep cuts.
Horrific Injuries Needed 30 Stitches
The victim was rushed to specialists, needing 30 stitches to close the brutal wounds. Doctors warned the damage would leave permanent scars – a lifelong reminder of the vicious assault.
Row at Social Club Sparks Violence
The ugly incident unfolded on November 23, 2018, at a Bircotes social club. Kmiotek’s girlfriend arrived and accused another man of sharing topless photos of her without permission. These snaps were hacked from Kmiotek’s phone by work colleagues, the court heard.
She threw a glass of lager over the man. Bar staff, aiming to cool things down, asked him to leave. The 19-year-old questioned why his attacker’s girlfriend—the initial aggressor—wasn’t shown the door instead.
Two-and-a-Half Years Behind Bars
Kmiotek erupted, launching the savage glass attack seconds later. Police quickly arrested the 23-year-old from Harworth. At Nottingham Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in jail, set to serve half behind bars and the rest on licence.
Detective’s Stark Warning
“This was a cowardly attack and it’s a miracle the victim did not lose his sight,” said Detective Constable Michael Booth, who led the case.
“He will live with scars from this unprovoked assault forever. We’re pleased justice has been served and hope this brings some relief to the victim.”
“Let this be a warning: violence carries serious consequences. Kmiotek’s actions are completely unacceptable and will never be tolerated in Nottinghamshire.”
