Murder probe launched after man killed in Leyton at dawn

Fatal stabbing rocks Beaumont Estate

Met Police have opened a murder investigation after a man was fatally attacked in Leyton in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Officers were called to the Beaumont Estate just after 1am on 1st September 2021 where the victim was found dead.

Hammer attack earlier on Leyton High Road

The killing came just hours after a separate violent incident nearby on Leyton High Road. Police arrived at the scene shortly before 6pm on Tuesday following reports of a fight involving multiple men, one reportedly armed with a hammer.

A man suffered head injuries and was rushed to hospital. His condition is currently unknown. Police have made no arrests and have cordoned off the area as enquiries continue.

Police hunting witnesses amid violence spike

Officers urge anyone with information to come forward, referencing incident CAD 5515/31 Aug. The Met have yet to confirm if the two attacks are connected.
