Sadly a woman has died following a house fire on Morden Way in Sutton

Part of the ground floor of a semi-detached house was damaged by fire. Firefighters found the body of a woman on the ground floor. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire service was called at 2.23am and the fire was under control by 3.18am on Monday. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Sutton, Mitcham, Wimbledon and New Malden fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
