Woman Found Dead After House Fire in Early Hours

A fire ripped through the ground floor of a semi-detached house in the early hours, leaving a woman dead at the scene.

Firefighters were called out at 2.23am on Monday. They battled the blaze until 3.18am, deploying four fire engines and about 25 crew members from Sutton, Mitcham, Wimbledon, and New Malden stations.

Tragically, the woman’s body was discovered inside the property and she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Cause of Blaze Still Unknown

Authorities have launched an investigation into what sparked the fire, but no details have been released yet.
