Man in His 30s Found Dead in George Street Flat
Police were called to a flat on George Street on the afternoon of Tuesday, 4 January, where they discovered the body of a man in his 30s. His family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Three Men Arrested Over Suspected Murder
- A 38-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of murder. He has been granted 36 more hours in custody.
- Two other men, aged 29 and 28, were also arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Adam Edwards said: “Officers continue to maintain a presence in the area as further enquiries are carried out to establish the circumstances surrounding this man’s death.”

Detectives want anyone who saw or heard anything unusual on the evening of Monday, 3 January, or in the early hours of Tuesday, 4 January, to come forward.

Investigation and Independent Review Underway
Police first attended the George Street address at about 2:50am on Tuesday, 4 January. The circumstances of their response have been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for a separate review.
