Basildon Police Crack Down with Major Arrest Spree
Multiple Arrests Made in Drug, Assault, and Sexual Offence Probes
Basildon police launched a blitz of planned warrants, arrest attempts, and proactive patrols – resulting in arrests linked to drug sales, a serious assault, and a sexual offence investigation. The crackdown shows the force’s commitment to tackling crime head-on.
High-Visibility Patrols and Intelligence Gathering
The team didn’t stop there. They carried out high-visibility patrols around Basildon, backing up the Community Policing Team. Officers submitted eight intelligence reports and conducted 27 stop-and-searches to sniff out trouble before it happens.
Chief Inspector Vows to Keep Pressure on Criminals
“Yesterday’s activity highlights the variety of work my team carries out every day,” said Chief Inspector Darren Deex, who heads the Operational Support Group (OSG). “Providing high visibility patrols reassures our communities. Warrants are the result of thorough investigations, while targeted arrests mean we’re bringing wanted offenders in. “My team will keep up this work day in, day out to keep you safe.”
