Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in Eltham – UKNIP

 

Police were called at 6.35am on Wednesday, 2 March to Rochester Way, SE9 following reports of a collision involving a van and a motorcycle.

Officers attended with medics from the London Ambulance Service and the London’s Air Ambulance.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the 57-year-old rider was pronounced dead at the scene at 7.16am. His family has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating. They would like to speak with anyone who saw the collision or captured it on dashcam.

Any witnesses who are yet to speak with police are asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Catford Traffic Garage on 020 8285 1574 or via 101 quoting reference CAD 1001/02Mar.
