North London Teen Charged with Preparing Terror Attacks
Al-Arfat Hassan, 19, from north London, was hit with serious terror charges after a swift police operation.
Serious Terror Charges Laid
- Preparation of terrorist acts under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006
- Collecting information useful to terrorists under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000
Hassan was arrested on Thursday, 3 March, during a proactive counter-terrorism swoop. He is now in custody, set to face Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 9 March.
Police Granted Extended Detention
Detectives secured a warrant to hold Hassan until 10 March, allowing more time to dig into the investigation. The young suspect was officially charged on Tuesday, 8 March.
