Reward Soars to £5,000 for Info on Nottinghamshire Sex Attack

A reward for information leading to the capture of a sex attacker has been boosted from £1,000 to a whopping £5,000. Crimestoppers, the independent charity, is pleading with the public for help in a horrifying case involving a 13-year-old girl assaulted in Nottinghamshire.

The Crime That Shocked Retford

The attack took place in broad daylight around 3.30pm on Thursday, 12 December 2019—the same day as the general election. The young victim was walking alone in a cemetery off North Road, Retford, when a stranger confronted and violently attacked her.

Nottinghamshire Police previously released CCTV footage showing a man near the cemetery at the time. They are desperate to identify and trace him to crack the case.

How You Can Help Catch the Monster

Crimestoppers guarantees 100% anonymity to anyone who comes forward. You can call their UK Contact Centre anytime on 0800 555 111 or submit info online at crimestoppers-uk.org. No caller ID, no tracing—your identity stays secret.

“This is an awful, heinous crime which should never have happened,” said Lydia Patsalides, Crimestoppers’ East Midlands Regional Manager. “An innocent child has suffered a terrible ordeal that may affect her for life. We understand how hard it is to speak up if you suspect someone close to you, but we are here to help.”

Police Plead for Witnesses

Detective Inspector Craig Hall from Nottinghamshire Police urged: “If you saw anything suspicious near the cemetery on that day, please get in touch. The date may stick in people’s minds because it was election day. We can also eliminate suspects thanks to evidence recovered.”

He added: “Thanks to Crimestoppers for their support and the generous reward that could help bring this attacker to justice.”

No tip is too small. The public’s help could finally unlock this case and deliver justice for the young victim.
