Man Faces Charges Over Dog Attack

Louie Turnbull, 46, with no fixed address, was charged on Tuesday, 9 May, following a dog attack in Commercial Road, E14. The charges include:

  • Owning a dog dangerously out of control
  • Possession of a dog while disqualified from owning one

Court Appearance and Police Action

Turnbull appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court the same day. Police are currently awaiting the court’s decision.

Incident Details: Woman and Dog Attacked

The drama unfolded shortly after 5pm on Sunday, 7 May, when police were called to reports of a woman attacked by dogs. Officers found the victim, who said two dogs had attacked her dog and caused a leg injury. Luckily, she did not need hospital treatment.

Dogs Destroyed and Owner Arrested

Both dogs were destroyed on the spot by police. Turnbull was arrested at the scene after officers deployed a Taser. He was later charged as noted above.

Police Conduct Cleared

The Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards reviewed all bodycam footage and confirmed no misconduct by officers during the incident.
