Brutal Abuse Ends in Prison for Jagjit Randhawa

Jagjit Randhawa, formerly of Kettering" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kettering, has been locked up for nearly three years after a year-long reign of terror against his ex-partner. The nightmare ended in March 2021 when police were called after Randhawa violently punched, kicked, and strangled the victim during a savage night of abuse.

Twisted Control and Cruelty

During the investigation, the victim revealed disturbing details of psychological torment alongside brutal physical attacks. Claiming to suffer from an eating disorder, Randhawa forced the woman to slave in the kitchen for hours, preparing meals to his exacting standards. If she displeased him, he would refuse to eat and demand she start again.

In some sick twists, she was made to feed him by hand and wash his hands for hours. Randhawa also isolated her completely, cutting her off from friends and family. Last Christmas, despite her family’s desperate attempts, she was not allowed to answer the door.

Justice Served: Jail Sentence and Restraining Order

Randhawa pleaded guilty at Northampton Crown Court on March 18 to multiple offences including assault and coercive control. He was sentenced to two years and eight months behind bars. An indefinite restraining order was also imposed to protect the victim and her family going forward.

Lead Investigator PC Matt Blaney said: “Jagjit Randhawa subjected this woman to a campaign of abuse over the period of just over a year and he is now where he belongs – in a cell.”

“I want to commend this woman for her bravery in reporting this incident and sticking with the investigation from start to finish. The fact that the call we received was the first we had from her shows we can get convictions on first reports.”
