Following A Serious Road Crash On The A96 Near Nairn On Saturday, 4 June 2022, Road Policing Officers Are Appealing For Information

Around 11.10pm, an 18-year-old man was driving a black Ford Fiesta car on the B9092 near the junction with the A96 when it collided with a blue Fiat Ducato camper van driven by a 72-year-old man on the A96.

Emergency services were called, and the 18-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment of his injuries. His condition is described as stable by hospital staff.

A male passenger in the Ford Fiesta, aged 18, was also taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment. His condition is described as stable by hospital staff.

As a precaution, two female passengers in the Ford Fiesta, ages 17 and 18, were taken to the hospital.

The Fiat Ducato camper van’s driver and front seat passenger were unharmed.

The 72-year-old female rear seat passenger, on the other hand, was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. Her condition is described as stable by hospital staff.

Our inquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing,” said Sergeant Alasdair MacKay of the Road Policing Unit in Inverness.

Despite the fact that the crash occurred late at night, I would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information that can help our ongoing investigation. I would also like to hear from anyone driving on that road around the time of the crash who has dash-cam footage.

Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101 and quote reference number 4704 from Saturday, June 4, 2022.
