Police Hunt Burglar Behind Two Raid Spree at Eastbourne Chippy
Police have released CCTV of a man they want to quiz after two break-ins at a popular Eastbourne fish and chip shop.
Odyssey Fish & Chips Raided Twice in a Week
Odyssey Fish and Chips, located in Terminus Road, was targeted twice—first on Saturday 3 September, then again on Wednesday 7 September. On both occasions, cash was stolen from the premises.
Suspect Spotted on CCTV
The CCTV shows a slim-built white man dressed in a black hoodie and blue jeans entering the shop between 12:35am and 12:45am on 7 September. Police are eager to identify him as part of their investigation.
Police Appeal for Information: Help Catch the Burglar
Investigating officer A/PS James Bunkin said: “Crime against a business is not a victimless crime – the owner has suffered both financially and emotionally after two burglaries in just days.”
“The victim is a small business owner doing their best in tough economic times. These burglaries only add pressure.”
Bunkin added: “We are looking into whether the two break-ins are connected and urge anyone with information to come forward.”
If you recognise the man in the footage or noticed suspicious activity near Odyssey Fish and Chips around the specified times, contact police online or call 101 quoting serial 39 of 07/09.
