Police Make Breakthrough in Leah Croucher Murder Probe
Thames Valley Police have launched a murder investigation after human remains were found at a house in Furzton, Milton Keynes.
Tragic Discovery in Loxbeare Drive Home
The remains were uncovered at a property on Loxbeare Drive, following the discovery of Leah Croucher’s rucksack and personal items. Leah, an adolescent, was last seen on CCTV on February 15, 2019.
Although formal identification of the remains hasn’t yet taken place, police have informed Leah’s family and are treating the case with urgency.
New Tip-Off Sparks Police Action
Officers have been at the scene since 6:30pm on Monday after receiving a phone tip from a member of the public – the first alert about this particular address in the case. Thames Valley Police said they have made multiple appeals over the past three and a half years.
“I am now making a renewed appeal to anyone who was near Loxbeare Drive around February 15, 2019, to come forward,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Ian Hunter.
“Even if you think your information is insignificant, it could be vital. We especially want CCTV footage from the time of Leah’s disappearance.”
Police Vow Thorough Investigation
Hunter added the force is committed to a “thorough and respectful” inquiry and expected to remain at the scene for some time. He also offered condolences to Leah’s family.
“Our thoughts are with Leah’s family and friends at this naturally difficult time,” he said.
