Teen Dead, Two Injured in Cardonaghy Road Horror Crash
Tragic Late-Night Collision
Police and emergency crews raced to Cardonaghy Road just before 11.40pm after reports of a single-vehicle crash. A 17-year-old boy was rushed to hospital, but tragically died from his injuries.
Others Hurt but Stable
Two other teens—a boy and a girl—also in the car suffered injuries believed not to be life-threatening.
Investigation Underway
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of multiple offences but has now been released pending further inquiries.
The road was shut for several hours but has since reopened.
“Our enquiries are continuing,” said PSNI Detective Sergeant Harrison. “The Collision Investigation Unit is asking anyone who saw what happened or has dash-cam footage to call police on 101 quoting reference 2165 of 21/10/22.”
