Brutal Attack at Manchester Garage Leaves Man with Broken Hip and Jaw

Just before 9pm on Saturday, chaos erupted at the Esso KP Garage on Victoria Avenue, Manchester. A man carrying out painting work on the shop’s disabled ramp was viciously punched unconscious after confronting a reckless yob.

Attack Sparks After Ramp Painting Interrupted

The victim was maintaining the ramp when a white male, aged around 19 or 20, about 5’10”, wearing a baseball cap under a hood and dark clothes, jumped over a barrier. Driving a white or silver VW Polo or Golf, the thug strolled onto the wet paint before the victim challenged him.

That’s when the attacker struck – landing a brutal punch that knocked the painter out cold. The assault resulted in serious injuries: a broken hip and jaw.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

“This is a serious assault,” said Police Constable Martin McGuffie. “We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.”

He added, “We’re especially interested in hearing from a woman called Lynn who helped the victim before emergency services arrived.”

Officers urge anyone who was nearby or has information to contact Greater Manchester Police. Call 101 quoting incident 3111 of 22/10/2022, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
