Teen Burglar Gets Youth Detention After Series of Liverpool Break-Ins
A 16-year-old boy from Liverpool was locked up for two years in youth detention after pleading guilty to a staggering 12 counts of burglary. The teen was arrested following a string of home break-ins between April and August 2022 in north Liverpool, specifically around Walton Hall Avenue and Breckfield Road North.
Operation Castle Strikes Again: Two More Burglaries Nabbed
In a massive win for Operation Castle, two other burglars were caught and admitted their crimes:
- Robin Vasko, 33, from Warrington Road, Warrington, pleaded guilty to four burglaries. Already serving time for previous offences, Vasko was linked to additional break-ins through fingerprint evidence. He’s due for sentencing in January.
- Jarmila Levayova, 29, of Cranborne Road, admitted to a 2019 burglary following fingerprint matches. She mostly targeted student homes around the Smithdown Road area. Her sentencing is also set for January.
Police Warn: Lock Up or Risk Becoming Next Victim
“Burglary can have a massive impact on victims,” said Detective Inspector Steve Byrom of Operation Castle. “It’s a personal, invasive crime. Victims lose more than just money – sentimental items disappear, and it’s hard to come to terms with that.”
DI Byrom urged the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity. “Many burglaries are opportunistic. Lock your doors, set alarms, and consider CCTV – even when you’re at home. Burglars prey on dark nights and the lead-up to Christmas. Don’t give them an easy chance.”
