Drama on Bridge Road: Woman Trapped After Bus and Van Crash in Erith

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

Late Sunday night, emergency crews scrambled to Bridge Road in Erith following a serious collision between a London double-decker bus and a white Citroën van. The crash trapped a female passenger inside one of the vehicles.

Firefighters Cut Through to Free Woman

The London Fire Brigade arrived swiftly and used cutting equipment to free the woman trapped after the smash. An incident commander ordered the roof of the vehicle to be removed to aid her rescue.

Police, Ambulance, and Fire Crews Join Forces

Police officers teamed up with the London Ambulance Service and fire crews to coordinate the rescue. Road closures were quickly set up to keep the area safe and allow emergency teams to operate without interruption.

Victim Stabilised and Taken to Hospital

After being freed, paramedics stabilised the woman on scene before rushing her to hospital. A Met Police spokesperson confirmed the crash occurred at 8.08pm and said the road remains closed while investigations continue.

“One woman is being treated at the scene and we await an update on her injuries,” said the Met Police.
