Late-night police patrols in Nottingham’s Sneinton and St Ann’s spotted a suspicious car zooming around at 1.45am on Monday (10 July).
Driver Tries to Make a Run for It
The vehicle was stopped on Manvers Street in Sneinton, but when officers tried to question one man inside, he bolted — leaping over a wall into thick bushes.
Officers gave chase and found him hiding in the undergrowth. He was quickly detained.
Drugs and Paraphernalia Found in Car
A search of the vehicle revealed bags stuffed with Class B drugs and drug paraphernalia, leading to immediate arrests.
- A 21-year-old man was arrested for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and obstructing officers.
- A 20-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl in the car were also held on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.
Police Praise Vigilance, Call for Info
Inspector Richard Markham said: “Reckless speeding motorists will always catch our eye. This stop is a perfect example of why we pull vehicles over and conduct thorough searches.
“We’ve taken a significant amount of illegal drugs off the streets tonight thanks to this arrest.”
