Late-Night Assault Shocks Metrolink Passengers

A brutal unprovoked attack unfolded on the Metrolink tram at St Werburghs around 11pm on Saturday, 25 July 2020. Four people were hurt, with two suffering blows to the head from a bottle.

Police Hunt for Tram Thugs

Inspector Amy Tierney from GMP’s Transport Unit slammed the violent incident: “This was an unprovoked attack on four people travelling on a tram. They all received injuries as a result of this assault which required medical treatment.”

She urged anyone who recognises the suspects in released images to come forward immediately.
