TikTok influencer Mahek Bukhari and her mother, Ansreen Bukhari, have been found guilty of murdering two men in a high-speed car chase, following a trial at Leicester Crown Court. The victims, Saqib Hussain and Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin, both 21, lost their lives when their Skoda car crashed and caught fire after leaving the A46 dual carriageway near Leicester on February 11, 2022.

During the trial, it was revealed that Saqib Hussain was having an affair with Mahek Bukhari’s mother, Ansreen. Prior to their deaths, Mr. Hussain made a desperate 999 call to the police, claiming that their car was being pursued and rammed by attackers wearing balaclavas in two vehicles. He expressed fear for his life and stated that he was being blocked in on the road.

According to evidence presented in court, the fatal crash occurred after Mr. Hussain threatened to expose his affair with Ansreen Bukhari by using a sex tape. Prosecutors alleged that the Bukharis and their associates deliberately ambushed and chased the victims, leading to the tragic accident.

Following over 28 hours of deliberation, the jury delivered their verdict, finding Mahek Bukhari and her mother, Ansreen, guilty of two counts of murder. Rekhan Karwan and Raees Jamal, who were also defendants in the case, were also found guilty of two counts of murder. However, Natasha Akhtar, Ameer Jamal, and Sanaf Gulamustafa were found not guilty of murder but were convicted of two counts of manslaughter. Mohammed Patel was acquitted of both murder and manslaughter charges.

The prosecution asserted that the Bukharis lured Saqib Hussain into a meeting under the pretext of returning £3,000 he had spent during their affair. Instead, the meeting turned into an ambush and chase, leading to the tragic deaths of Saqib Hussain and Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin.

The court’s verdict has brought closure to a case that involved dramatic revelations of deception, betrayal, and violence. The defendants will now face sentencing for their involvement in the fatal car chase that claimed two lives.
