Kids Take Over Police Cars at Gedling’s ‘Love Parks’ Day
Youngsters got a thrill as they hopped into police cars and tried on real police uniforms at a lively community event in Gedling Country Park.
Operation Reacher and Carlton Teams Engage Families
The action-packed ‘Love Parks’ Day, hosted by Gedling Borough Council, saw local officers from Gedling Operation Reacher and Carlton neighbourhood policing teams meet families and showcase their work.
“We were there showcasing what Operation Reacher offers to our local communities, as well as taking along our vehicles, kit, and giving local families and children the opportunity to get a hands-on experience,” said Sergeant James Carrington of the Gedling Operation Reacher team.
Freebies and Fun Prove a Big Hit
Kids loved trying on police gear and walking away with freebies like key rings, pens, stickers, and the brand-new Top Trumps-style trading cards crafted by neighbourhood policing staff.
Sergeant Carrington added, “We received loads of positive feedback from the public, local council reps, and the Mayor’s Office, who were also there.”
Community Spirit Shines at Event
The event featured numerous stalls from charities, local vendors, and organisations, creating a vibrant atmosphere well received by all.
