On the evening of August 9th, 28-year-old Daniel Varadi was fatally stabbed in Barnsley town centre. Police rushed to an address on Newton Street just after 9pm following reports of a man with serious chest injuries. Despite emergency treatment and a swift hospital transfer, Daniel sadly died.

Police confirmed Daniel’s identity on August 12. His devastated family, who have shared his photo publicly, are receiving support while the community mourns their loss. A post-mortem revealed a single stab wound caused his death.
Man Charged with Murder
In a major breakthrough, 21-year-old Daniel Balazs from Heelis Street, Barnsley, was arrested and charged with Daniel Varadi’s murder on August 11. The police continue their investigation and urge anyone with information to come forward.
