Eastbourne Drug Bust: Police Hunt Key Witnesses After Street Arrest

Witnesses Spotted Suspected Deal

Police swooped on a suspected drug dealer in Eastbourne town centre after a man and woman alerted officers to a drug deal. It happened at 11.45am on Monday, December 12, in Mark Lane, where the pair spotted suspicious activity nearby.

Swift Arrest Made on Suspicion of Drug Supply and Knife Offence

While chatting to the witnesses, officers spotted a man matching their description. He was quickly arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs, plus carrying a bladed article in public.

Witnesses Vanish, Police Appeal for Help

Shockingly, the man and woman – described as wearing a yellow coat – left before police could get their details. Officers searched but couldn’t find them.

Police say the pair are crucial witnesses and urge them, or anyone with info, to contact them immediately online or on 101, quoting incident 521 of 12/12.

Suspect Released on Bail

The arrested 18-year-old man has been freed on conditional bail as investigations continue.
