Serious assault in New Romney sparks police hunt for witnesses

Road Rage Row Ends in Violent Attack

A man was seriously assaulted after a road rage incident on Church Lane, New Romney, last December. Between 3.45pm and 6pm on Wednesday 14 December 2022, tempers flared when a white van and a black Volkswagen Golf couldn’t pass each other on a narrow stretch of road.

Attack After Heated Altercation

The white van driver was approached by two men and assaulted at the scene, suffering a head injury. He was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Police Seek Key Witnesses

One suspect is described as a white man in his early 40s, about 5ft 7ins tall, with short brown mousey hair. He wore a black jacket, body warmer, and matching bottoms.

Kent Police have spoken to some witnesses but believe more people with dashcam or mobile footage haven’t come forward yet.
