Man stabbed to death in Cullercoats street horror
Just before 4.30pm yesterday, police rushed to John Street, Cullercoats, after a worry over a man’s welfare. What they found was chilling.
Man Found Fatally Injured
Officers discovered a 45-year-old man with wounds caused by a bladed weapon. Despite desperate efforts from emergency teams, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Specialist officers are now supporting his grieving family.
43-Year-Old Arrested at Scene
A 43-year-old man was quickly arrested nearby on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as cops launch a full-scale investigation.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Inspector Tam Fowler said: “This is a serious incident which has sadly resulted in a man’s death and we are determined to establish the circumstances. We have launched a full investigation and arrested one man as part of our enquiries.
“Our officers remain in the area to carry out a range of enquiries and offer reassurance to the public.
“I would also ask that anybody who saw anything or has any information that may assist our investigation to come forward.”
