Man Charged After Victim Left with Life-Changing Injuries in Rainworth
Sam Sharpe, 23, from Brownley Road, Clipstone, faced Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 20 December 2022. He’s been hit with charges of grievous bodily harm with intent and perverting the course of justice.
The suspect was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 17 January 2023.
Attack in Southwell Road East Car Park
The shocking attack happened on 23 October 2022 at a car park on Southwell Road East, Rainworth. A group had gathered when a fight broke out. During the scuffle, the victim was struck by a truck, suffering life-altering injuries.
Police Speak Out on Serious Incident
“This was an extremely serious incident which has left a man with life-altering injuries. We respond robustly to any reports of violence and street disorder, and I am pleased a suspect has now been placed before the courts,” said Detective Chief Inspector Nick Hall of Nottinghamshire Police.
