Armed Police Arrest Suspect in Christmas Eve Murder

Armed officers stormed a residential building from both sides, arresting a suspect in connection with the murder of Elle Edwards. Merseyside Police released black and white footage of the dramatic raid on Twitter, urging the public to help crack the case.

“Watch the moment we arrest a suspect as part of our ongoing investigation into the murder of Elle Edwards in Wallasey on Christmas Eve. Our efforts to remove criminals from our streets will never cease,” the force tweeted.

Three Arrested in Shocking Pub Shooting

Three people have been detained over the fatal shooting outside the Lighthouse Inn in Wallasey Village, Wirral, just before midnight on Christmas Eve. Elle Edwards, 26, tragically lost her life but is believed to have been an unintended target.

  • A 31-year-old man is currently being questioned.
  • A 30-year-old Tranmere man was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
  • A 19-year-old woman from Rock Ferry was arrested for conspiracy to murder.

Both the last two arrests happened on Boxing Day.

Police Hunt for Murder Weapon and Witnesses

Despite gathering “tremendous intelligence,” officers have yet to recover the gun used in the shooting. Forensic teams remain at the scene with cordons still in place.

“We will not rest until justice is served for Elle’s family. I am appealing for information from anyone who knows who pulled that trigger or where the weapon is,” said Deputy Chief Constable Ian Critchley.

Chief Constable Serena Kennedy vowed a relentless hunt for the culprits behind the “callous and cold-blooded murder.”

Police Renew Appeal for Dashcam, CCTV, and Witnesses

Merseyside Police are urging anyone with dashcam footage, CCTV, or mobile phone videos from the area to come forward. They want the public to help piece together the final moments before Elle’s death.
