Missing Teen From Nightclub Found Safe After Police Hunt

Marnie Clayton, 18, was discovered safe and sound in Basingstoke, Hampshire, on Monday afternoon. The teenager had been missing since early Sunday morning after last being seen at the Atik nightclub on William Street in Windsor around 2am, Thames Valley Police confirmed.
Family Raise Alarm, Man Arrested
The 18-year-old, who hails from Bracknell, Berkshire, was reported missing just after 3am when she failed to return home. A 21-year-old man from Reading was arrested in connection with the case. Hampshire Constabulary charged him with multiple offences including battery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, breach of police bail, false imprisonment, and making threats to kill. He remains in police custody.
Police Praise Public for Crucial Tips
Superintendent Michael Greenwood, local policing area commander for Windsor and Maidenhead, hailed the joint investigation by Thames Valley Police and Hampshire Constabulary. He thanked the thousands who shared the missing persons appeal, saying:
“I am delighted to confirm Marnie has been found safe and returned to her family, who were naturally very concerned. This was down to incredible work by officers from both forces and valuable information from the public. We are grateful to everyone who shared appeals and made calls—it truly made a difference.”
