BMW Fails to Stop for Cops, Crashes into Building in Heywood
A high-speed drama unfolded on Rochdale Road East, Heywood, late on Sunday night as a BMW refused to stop for police at around 11.45pm on 20 March 2022.
Short Pursuit Ends in Crash
The chase was brief but intense. The BMW lost control and smashed into a building on the same road. Two men, aged 27 and 18, were injured in the crash.
Victims in Serious Condition
Police officers initially treated both men at the scene before paramedics arrived. The pair remain in serious condition in hospital.
Police Probe Under Independent Review
The Independent Office for Police Conduct has been called in to review the incident. GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
