Local officers were on patrol in Ramsgate Road, Margate, in the early hours of Wednesday, January 11, 2023, when they stopped a vehicle. Checks confirmed that the vehicle owner was suspected of being linked to theft reports in Broadstairs, and he was arrested. Terry Norman, 37, of Denbigh Road, Ramsgate, was charged as part of an investigation into the thefts with stealing clothing from TKMaxx in Broadstairs on Saturday 24 December 2022, stealing a television worth £159 from Asda in Broadstairs on Thursday 29 December, stealing food from Tesco on Saturday 17 December, and stealing clothing worth £369 from TKMaxx on Wednesday 28 December. He was released on conditional bail and ordered to appear in Margate Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
