Early Morning Knife Arrest in Sutton-in-Ashfield

At 4:39am today, police swooped on a man breaking into a garage on Dalestorth Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield. Cops wasted no time in locking up the 46-year-old suspect.

Blades Found on Suspect

Officers searched the man and uncovered several knives. He was immediately arrested for aggravated burglary and possession of a bladed article.

“Officers did a great job responding so quickly to this incident, detaining a suspect and preventing the situation from escalating,” said Temporary Detective Sergeant Georgie Gallagher of Nottinghamshire Police.

“I’d like to reassure the public the force continues to 1 hard to keep people safe and drive down this type of offending,” Gallagher added. “We will robustly investigate all burglary reports.”
