Police have been hunting for Matthew Gibson from Mansfield since the early hours of Saturday, January 14th.
Tragically, a man’s body was found on Saturday afternoon near Old Newark Road in Rainworth.
Body Found as Search Ends
Detective Inspector Andrew Hall of Nottinghamshire Police confirmed the grim discovery. “While formal identification is still pending, Mr Gibson’s family has been notified of this tragic discovery,” he said.
No Foul Play Suspected
Officers believe there is nothing suspicious about the death, but remain keen to understand what happened. DI Hall added, “We do not believe what occurred was suspicious, but we are curious as to what occurred.”
