Relentless Hunt for Leah Croucher’s Killer Continues
Police are still working round-the-clock on the Leah Croucher murder probe, led by Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown, Head of Major Crime. Since Leah’s body was found in October 2022 at a home on Loxbeare Drive, Furzton, Milton Keynes, officers have been doggedly piecing together the case.
Over 2,000 Police Actions So Far
Detectives have carried out more than 2,000 detailed actions. This includes forensic searches, taking hundreds of statements, scouring CCTV footage, and exhaustive house-to-house enquiries across the area.
Neil Maxwell Remains Sole Suspect
Neil Maxwell, named publicly as the only suspect in October last year, is still at the centre of the investigation. Despite widespread media coverage and fresh inquiries with his acquaintances, employers, and neighbours, police have found no sign of him in Milton Keynes since December 2018.
“Neil Maxwell remains the only nominated suspect at this point,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Ian Hunter. “We continue gathering evidence to establish the truth.”
Maxwell is believed to have been on the run after being wanted for a sexual assault in Newport Pagnell in November 2018. He reportedly changed his appearance—growing a beard, possibly losing weight—and used false names to avoid arrest. Police even created a computer image of what Maxwell might have looked like around February 2019, the time Leah disappeared.
Can You Help Find Neil Maxwell?
Police urgently want anyone who might have seen Maxwell near Loxbeare Drive between December 2018 and April 2019 to come forward. They ask if you know where he was, what phone he used, or what vehicle he drove to get in touch.
