Teen Dead, Another Injured in Shocking Hexham Stabbing
Emergency services were called shortly after 5.10pm on Friday to Priestpopple in Hexham town centre following reports of a stabbing involving two teenagers.
Girl, 15, Dies After Being Stabbed
Paramedics and police found a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl seriously injured with wounds from a bladed weapon. Both were rushed to hospital, but tragically the girl died despite life-saving efforts. The boy remains in stable condition.
Teen Arrested and Charged
A 16-year-old male was arrested nearby on suspicion of assault and murder. He has since been charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of an offensive weapon. Due to legal protections, his identity is withheld. He’s set to appear at Newcastle magistrates on Monday.
