Zouma Apologises as RSPCA and Essex Police Launch Investigation Over Cat Abuse

West Ham star Kurt Zouma has issued an apology after a shocking video showed him abusing two cats. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) is now working closely with Essex Police to get to the bottom of the incident.

Cats Saved and Safe in RSPCA Care

A spokesperson for the RSPCA said, “The two cats are now in RSPCA care. Our priority is and has always been the wellbeing of these cats.”

They added that the cats have been taken for vet check-ups and will remain in the charity’s care while the investigation continues. “We were dealing with this issue before the video went viral and are leading the investigation,” the spokesperson said. “We continue to investigate and cannot comment further at this time.”

Petition Demands Justice Amid Public Outrage

Fury over the footage has exploded online, with a Change.org petition launched by Anti Animal Abuse gathering steam. It demands prosecution of the “perpetrators of this heinous act” and calls for the RSPCA to “remove all animals from Zouma’s ‘care’ immediately.” The petition has already racked up over 150,000 signatures.

Meanwhile, West Ham has confirmed they are handling the matter “internally,” as the scandal continues to rattle fans and animal lovers alike.
