Man Dies After Brutal Assault Near Canvey Island Pub

Police were called just before 1.45 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, to reports of an injured man in the car park of Iceland on Furtherwick Road, Canvey Island.

The victim was allegedly attacked moments earlier near The Haystack pub. Paramedics tried desperately to save him, but the man sadly died at the scene.

Crime Scene Locked Down

Officers have cordoned off a large area including Furtherwick Road and Long Road while they investigate. Authorities warn that traffic and access in the centre of Canvey will be disrupted throughout the day.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood, leading the inquiry, said:

“I want to extend my condolences to the family of the man who has died. Our team is working hard to piece together what happened. If you saw anything, or have information about the assault, please get in touch.”
