Teen Attacked in Broad Daylight in Southampton
A teenage boy was mugged in broad daylight between Bargate Southampton and Castle Way on Saturday, March 25, around 12.25pm to 12.45pm. The victim was confronted by two teens demanding his bag, phone, and shoes. When he refused, the situation quickly turned violent.
Victim Assaulted, Phone Stolen
The boy ran towards Westquay shopping centre, but the two suspects chased him back onto Castle Way. One attacker reportedly assaulted the teen, causing minor facial injuries, while the other grabbed the phone the victim dropped during the struggle.
A passerby stepped in heroically to help the teen reclaim his belongings.
Police Hunt Two Young Suspects
- Both are white, aged 14-15, slim build.
- First suspect: about 5ft 6ins tall, wearing a grey beanie.
- Second suspect: about 5ft 5ins tall, dark short hair, black Nike coat resembling a gilet.
Police urge anyone who witnessed the assault or the heroic intervention to come forward.

The former John Lewis shop assistant, who has about 100,000 followers on TikTok, is reported to have travelled to the UAE after meeting Treeby on Facebook, where he is said to have organised a photoshoot. The Mirror can reveal that he was convicted of unlawful wounding and common assault at Maidstone Crown Court in December 2023, in relation to an attack on a woman and a man. Treeby was sentenced to 14 months in prison, suspended for two years, a court official confirmed. She said her first visit to the country lasted about a week and was positive, describing it as “the time of my life”.
