Chaos Ends! Troublemaker Property Shut Down in Kent
Kent Police moved swiftly on Thursday 6 April 2023, securing a closure order at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court after residents raved about chaos swirling around a property on St Nicholas Road.
Three-Month Lockdown with Heavy Penalties
The crackdown means the premises will be sealed shut for three months. Anyone caught sneaking in faces a fine and up to 51 weeks behind bars.
Officers Seal Property, Warn Locals
Local cops made sure the housing association-owned house was empty before locking it up tight. A bold sign now warns everyone: Entering is a criminal offence.
PC Jamie Spencer: ‘Problem Solved After Resident Complaints’
“Local people have suffered disturbances and anti-social antics from visitors here for weeks,” said PC Jamie Spencer from the Swale Community Safety Unit.
“Residents called us, and we warned the occupants, but nothing changed. So, we took firm action to remove the problem.”
The closure order was enforced under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. Southern Housing now controls the premises.
PC Spencer added: “We’re dead serious about nipping disorder in the bud. Anyone causing misery in their community can expect the same from Kent Police.”
