Reckless Driver Sentenced After Brutal Street Attack in Barking
Bristan William, 20, from Park Avenue, Barking, has been sentenced after admitting to two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of dangerous driving. The shocking incident occurred during a violent brawl between two groups of males.
Menhedged by Car in Late-Night Street Brawl
Just before midnight, William left club 123 on his own and made his way towards a violent confrontation on Leadenhall Street. Witnesses saw him drive his car straight at the crowd, hitting an unidentified man before performing a three-point turn and targeting the group again. Remarkably, the others dodged the attack.
Not done yet, William circled back and deliberately charged at two men trying to escape on foot.
Detective Constable Jon Forster of the Major Crime Team said: “This dangerous individual will be off the streets for a long while.”
Victims Suffer Serious Injuries
- One man was catapulted into the air and slammed against a building wall. He suffered a dislocated shoulder, fractured nose, and three spinal fractures.
- The second victim was thrown over the car’s bonnet and roof, then propelled 100 yards down the road, ending up with a ruptured knee ligament.
Chase Ends at Essex Home
The vehicle vanished from CCTV after the attack but was picked up by ANPR cameras at 12:16am on 27 July 2022, as William headed home. Police tracked the car to a site in Wickford, Essex, recovered the vehicle, and matched debris found at the scene.
William was arrested on 4 August 2022 and charged. He faces a five-year driving ban after his release.
