Cambridge crook Shaun Burrows nabbed for £1,592 John Lewis thefts

Shaun Burrows was caught on CCTV nicking three jackets, perfume, and a coffee maker from John Lewis in Cambridge. The loot, stolen between December 6 and February 26, totalled £1,592.

Knuckle duster found during earlier arrest

The 45-year-old from Victoria Road, Cambridge, had already been arrested on March 1, 2022, where police found him carrying a knuckle duster.

Burrows jailed for 19 months after guilty plea

At Peterborough Crown Court on Thursday, April 13, Burrows pleaded guilty to five counts of theft and possession of an offensive weapon. He was sentenced to one year and seven months behind bars.

Police call Burrows a ‘prolific thief’ driven by drug habit

“Burrows is a prolific thief who has been targeting businesses in the city, stealing high value items to sell on to buy drugs,” said PC Wadsworth, the lead investigator. “We hope this time in prison will give Burrows the opportunity to get the help he needs to stop offending.”
