Obsessed Ex Robert Vyse Jailed Over Stalker Spree
Robert Vyse, 34, has been locked up for four years and four months after admitting harassment, assault, and coercive behaviour. The East Kent Vulnerability Investigation Team of Kent Police cracked the case.
Strangled by Control and Threats
Vyse, from Dering Road, canterbury/" title="Canterbury" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Canterbury, haunted his victim relentlessly. She told police he tracked her phone during their relationship, showed up uninvited when she was out with friends, and dictated everything from her wardrobe to her job. He even wrecked her home and physically assaulted her.
After they split, the barrage of menacing calls and texts escalated until Vyse threatened to visit her home. Terrified, the victim reported him to Canterbury Police Station in October 2022.
Police Confrontation Ends in Assault
When officers moved in to arrest Vyse, he tried to flee in his car. An officer was hurt – Vyse’s reckless escape injured the officer’s arm. He later turned himself in and was taken into custody.
Detective Constable David McIntyre said: “This victim did exactly the right thing by coming forward. Her bravery helped bring this man to justice.”
